I didnt know if the dishes in the dishwasher were dirty or clean!

A question I asked daily to my two teenagers "Why didnt you just put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher when you were done eating??? " Typical response " I didnt know if they were dirty or clean! (This being said without even opening the dishwasher to look, of course!)  Problem solved! They no longer can use that excuse again!  With just a a piece of scrap paper/stickers/mod podge/and a magnet.
At first I was thinking about making a circle.. but opted for the square piece... stuck on stickers to spell out   Clean  and Dirty (on opposite ends of the paper )

Throw some mod podge on top of it to seal it.  Cut a piece of a magnet strip... slap it on the back.. easy peacy! Let it dry for 30 minutes - and stick it on the dishwasher.
Of course I'm not crazy enough to think that this will actually solve the problem! After all, they are teenagers... I'm sure they will come up with another great excuse! But, I can only hope...

Sentimental Fall Wreath..

(This is what I started with...)

I started several new projects this morning... I would start one... then move on to something else.. couldnt quite decide on what I wanted to do.  I finally decided to work on a fall wreath.  After trying different things.. I came to the quick conclusion that I needed something to cover the wreath.. before I really started working on it.  After a quick peek into my "fabric bin" (which includes clothing that I saved thinking.. that maybe one day I would find  a use for it.. ) it hit me... the shirt my son wore for my best friend's wedding last fast.. is the perfect color.  I simply cut the arms off - then cut them into strips and starting securing to the wreath until it was completely covered.  It was still a little too messy looking for my liking.. after some digging in my fall stash - I found some tulle that was used for decoration at the wedding also...  then it all starting coming together - I would use things from my best friend's wedding to complete the wreath and give it to her for her 1st wedding anniversay!  The pics arent that great - I def need a new camerea - but Im super excited about giving it to her! I used leaves and decor from her wedding (that she so kindly gave me after the wedding) to finish it with!
(Shirt that I used to cover the wreath)

                                        (This is the back.. Yikes!)

(Picked a few goodies from my fall stash)

                                          (Final product..)
I wish that I had better pictures - because this really doesnt do it justice. I love the way that it turned out - especially knowing that it will have so much sentimental value to my best friend! :)

Tomorrow... the adventures begin!!

Am I the only one who sees something really cool on a blog - rushes out to the nearest thrift store to find all the things needed to make this really cool item... only to get sidetracked by the next cool thing I see? But, still determined that I can do it all? Please tell me I'm not the only one! But, it so easy to get lost in all the wonderful ideas floating around out there in blog land.. including coming up with wonderful ideas in my own head.. that I am never going to do am going to make!!  The other day I thought gosh, I should organize everything I have and actually start a project... I was so overwhelmed once I realized I literally had enough stuff for HUNDREDS of projects....  and regardless of how thrifty I had been... I was still wasting tons of money.. if I NEVER completed them!!  So, tomorrow... I am committed to  fininshing my first "project" and to add a new one everyday for the next 30 days... follow me along my journey...
